UVic's third, bi-annual Social Dimensions of Health conference entitled "Intersectionality on health. Connecting the dots. An interdisciplinary conference on the Social Dimensions of Health", taking place on April 5, 2019 is calling for abstracts from a broad spectrum of health-related research.

 

Topics may include, but are not limited to: health literacy, population health, life course studies, community health, primary care, arts-based practices, economy and environment, poverty, climate change, gender and health, women's health, food sustainability, culture and health, substance use and society, Indigenous health, Social justice,  history of medicine, policy and practice, etc.

 

 

Additionally, this conference is inclusive of all research methodologies including but not limited to: qualitative methods, quantitative methods, mixed methodologies, Indigenous Ways of Knowing, Arts-based research methodologies, etc.

 

 

The conference will feature two different styles of Presentations.

  • "Rapid fire" oral presentations (1 slide, 3 minutes)

  • A lunch-time poster presentations. 

 

 The abstract should be 250 words maximum, excluding the title. 

 

 

We encourage individuals at all levels of their professional and academic careers to apply!  Additionally, we encourage members of community organizations to present on topics related to research and/or practice.
